Animal loving business buyer sought for a Scotland zoo

Offers in the region of £500,000 are being invited for Fife Animal Park, which is home to 76 species of animal including zebras, water buffalo, deer, Alpaca, raccoons, and meerkats.

Located in Collessie, near Cupar, the ten-acre site was opened in 2007, and has proved to be popular with groups from local schools and nurseries as well as tourists.

The park, which includes a visitor centre, kids' play parks and restaurant, is to stay open while a buyer is found. Rural estate agents Smiths Gore have been tasked with marketing and selling the unusual opportunity.

Patrick Paton said: “It’s a bit out of the ordinary but we handle mainly rural sales across the UK so we do see places like this and equestrian centres become available now and again.

“The Fife park has obvious attractions with a restaurant, shop and offices as well as the animal park zoo. It’s an excellent business opportunity. People who like animals will have a fondness for it and it’s generating the right sort of levels of interest we’d expect from this market,” he added.

The agent has received serious interest from a party, and is having phone calls and viewing requests still coming in so may not be on the market for long.
