The pub that sparked off long-running BBC Radio 4 series, The Archers, has been put up for sale.
Located in the Worcestershire village of Inkberrow, The Old Bull pub is said to be the fictional setting for the series.
Its owners, Lyn Fishburn, 62, and Mike McCarthy, 60, have opted to sell the pub after six years operating the pub as landlords. Speaking to The Daily Mail, Mr McCarthy explained the reasons behind the sale: We have decided to sell up as we are now looking for a bit more time in life now. Times have changed, running a pub is a young person's game now.
“We have achieved what we wanted to achieve and we have always enjoyed the link with The Archers.”
Ms Fishburn added that the pub has been popular with local villagers as well as tourists and that while it isn't a particularly big establishment, it is a busy and popular pub.
Trade tends to be made up of locals and tourists that come to visit due to the connection with the radio soap. The pub is up for sale for £89,000.
