Bar for sale in Dalton

A cocktail bar in Dalton is to be put on the market just over a year after it first started trading.

The trendy Bar 20 in Tudor Square opened for the last time on New Year's Day after the owner, Chris Shaw, decided it was time to sell up for personal reasons, stressing that the closure was not related to business issues.

“It's just the way I feel. I'm looking for a more steady job, but the bar still works,” he told In-Cumbria. “We employ five or six staff who are all part time, so it's not a big deal for them really.”

At the time of opening, in August 2011, Mr Shaw said he was keen to use the experience he gained as a cocktail waiter in Newcastle to his own business. He said: “I'm looking to cater for a variety of drinkers during the week, but for the bar to be cheap enough for the younger people to drink in at the weekends.

“I've heard a lot of people go through to wine bars in Ulverston, from Dalton, but if there was something like that in the town, they wouldn't have to go tat far.”
