Bell Inn pub up for sale

The Bell Inn pub in Banwell, Somerset, is up for sale after closing back in the winter of 2011.

Gary White and Karly Ivison had owned the business since October 2010, but decided to close it shortly after Christmas amid a change in circumstances.

The agents selling the property have suggested that it would suit a local operator who is interested in reopening the business as an inn. However, developing the property into a more diverse range of businesses might be more profitable in the long-run.

Nicholas Calfe from Christie and Co's Bristol office told The Weston Mercury: “It provides an excellent opportunity for buyers looking for a property with potential alternative uses; such as residential or letting accommodation.

“Those interested might also include anyone wishing to reopen this once-loved pub, revive its place in the local community and re-establish its customer base.”

He added that the asking price of £250,000 plus VAT is “reasonable … especially considering its picturesque location”.

The property is located in The Square in the centre of Banwell and is a former coaching inn that has been run as a pub for a number of years.
