Boutique Cornwall hotel up for sale

A boutique hotel that overlooks Cornwall’s River Fowey has been put up for sale for £1.5 million.

The Cormorant Hotel is a 14 en-suite bedroom hotel that offers “significant development opportunities”, sellers Savills said.

The boutique hotel, about two miles from the town of Fowey, sits on an elevated position over the river with all bedrooms, public areas and restaurant looking onto it.

The site also has a lounge with seating for 20 and a cocktail bar as well as a separate building housing a swimming pool and jacuzzi with external sun deck.

“The hotel offers significant development opportunities for extension, conversion to holiday apartments and redevelopment to residential use subject to planning consent,” Savills said in a statement.

Martin Rogers, head of UK hotel transactions at Savills, said: “The Cormorant Hotel’s location is exceptional, with the property geared towards making the most of the views across the estuary.

“The current owner has run the business very successfully for the last nine years and now wishes to retire. The property has great potential for development in the future.”
