Boutique hotel for sale

A boutique hotel in Penarth is up for sale after over a year of ceased trading.

The luxurious property closed in May 2011 due to adverse trading conditions and has now been listed for sale.

Built in the 1920s, the unique property has 14 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, a number of kitchens, dining areas and lounges. In addition, there are also views across the channel from a sun terrace, as well as a spa with hydro-therapy pool, a gym and a private garden.

Under its previous ownership the rental rooms were equipped with luxury additions, such as Bang and Olufsen media and free WiFi facilities for guests.

Richard Baker, sales agent for the property, told the Penarth Times: “It's the location which is the real draw for me. It's on the channel side of the road and offers uninterrupted views of the channel.”

The hotel has previously been voted as one of the Top 50 British Independent on Sunday Hotels. National Geographic's Stay List has also featured the property, bolstering its reputation.

It is currently rated as a commercial property. Its usage could be changed to residential if the buyer desired.
