Bristol's Brewery Theatre put on the market

The Brewery Theatre in Bristol has been put up for sale for £640,000.

Located on the site of a former garage, the area also includes a bakery, café and visitor centre as well as the theatre. Kwik Fit owns the freehold which is up for sale, while Bristol’s mayor George Ferguson owns the leasehold on the theatre and as such it is said that the use of the building will not be affected by the potential sale.

The theatre has established itself as a hotspot on the city’s arts and culture scene in the four years it has been running. It is being advertised by online property site Rightmove on behalf of Cardiff-based Sower Estates and has been described as “a delightful and unique building”, split over two floors comprising 4,612 square feet of space. It currently brings in a gross rental income of £46,749 per year.

Ferguson’s theatre takes its name from the fact that it is located next to the Bristol Beer Factory brewery, which is also owned by the mayor.

The seller stated that the Brewery Theatre has been recently been renovated to create an "exciting destination for shows and events". The conversion created an auditorium to seat around 90 people and also includes a dance studio alongside the other existing amenities.
