Britain's most haunted pub up for sale

For those not easily spooked, a haunted pub in Staffordshire has gone up for sale.

The 17th century drinking hole – named the Four Crosses – is currently sitting derelict. It is situated off Watling Street in Cannock and carries the accolade of being one of Britain’s most haunted pubs. It has been put on the market with a price of £325,000.

The Four Crosses was built in 1636 and is as well known for its spirits of the otherworldly variety as much as the ones poured into customers’ glasses, the Birmingham Mail reported. From ghosts of the English Civil War, through to a weeping widow and an infamous ‘black eyed child’, there are many scary stories circulating around this establishment, but for the more pragmatic businessperson it represents a good investment opportunity.

The vacant freehold three-storey property is made out of both brick and timber, with an attractive period appearance. On the site there is a bar, restaurant, kitchen, stores, a cellar and 10 bedrooms on the first and second floor. This means that it has hotel facilities beyond the pub and restaurant.

It also comes with a car park for 80 vehicles and a beer garden.

As a business it does good trade through its reputation as a regular haunt for thirsty ghosts and it is expected to attract attention now that is has been listed for sale.
