Burnley fish and chip shop up for sale at 'bargain price'

A fish and chip shop in Lancashire has gone up for sale at the bargain price of just £9,000.

Brunshaw Fish and Chips in Burnley is a family run business but siblings Abigail Francoli, 30, and Ben Francioli, 28, are looking to sell up following the death of their father Louis last month. The National Federation of Fish Friers has called the valuation an “absolute bargain” and believe that if the owners were not after a quick sale then they could bring in a figure of at least £16,000.

Included in the £9,000 asking price, the new owner would get all they need to run the fish and chip business. This includes the kitchen and dining equipment as well as the salad bar and restaurant space.

The mother of the family, Michaela, who also helped out with the shop while looking after her ill husband, revealed that in the time the Franciolis have run the eatery they have turned it into a thriving business and increased the profit 400 per cent, turning over between £500 and £800 a week.

Andrew Crook, treasurer of the National Federation of Fish Friers, said: “Burnley's gone through a lot of changes, including the demographic no longer all being the usual fish and chip-eating people.

“But this is an absolute bargain and would be a brilliant start-up business for someone willing to put the time into making it successful again.”
