The Free Press, a pub in Cambridge, is on the market after the landlord announced his intention to focus on his new pub.
Craig Bickley, who has been the pub's landlord for 13 years, is shifting his focus across to the Alexandra Arms in Petersfield, leaving the Prospect Row pub up for grabs. Fortunately, the pub's owner, Greene King, has confirmed that it will be kept as a pub, rather than repurposed.
Mr Bickley commented on the sale, telling Cambridge news that he 'put his soul' into the pub over the years.
"We have had people interested in the Free Press but we want to hand it over to the right sort of people for the area, be it a couple of an individual, with the right mindset to keep it as one of the most traditional pubs in the city," he added.
The pub's food, real ales and location has made it one of the most popular pubs in the city over the years and its new owners are likely to find a large amount of support for the business.
