Cemex Angling to sell various venues

Cemex Angling is to sell its venues around the UK, it has been revealed. The firm is one of the most highly respected commercial angling organisations in the UK, but this will be its last season of operation, with its venues scheduled to be put on the open market in early May of this year.

Locations around Essex, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and Berkshire are up for sale either as lots or individual venues depending on buyers' interests.

A statement from the parent company, Cemex UK Operations Ltd, read: “A difficult decision has been made to put Cemex Angling up for sale. As part of the regular and on-going business reviews, we have decided that angling is not core to our operations and in the current economic climate we have limited resources and capital to develop the business in the future.”

It added that existing tickets sold will be honoured but tickets will only be sold for this season.

Cemex Angling began as Hall's Angling Scheme in the late 1960s and brought in a new standard of angling to the UK. The owners are keen to see it sold to businesses or individuals who will continue this legacy and already a number of angling groups are rallying support to purchase their fisheries themselves.
