Edinburgh hotel on the market

Allison House Hotel in Mayfield Gardens on the south side of Edinburgh has been put up for sale after its owners decided to retire.

The B-listed hotel forms part of an impressive Victorian terrace of town house properties and, whilst it has long been established as a private hotel, it currently trades on a bed and breakfast basis.

The 4-star accommodation, which was fully refurbished in 2007, comprises 11 bedrooms – all of which have been decorated using Black Watch and Lindsay tartan fabric - a dining room and extensive private rooms for the owners. All guest bedrooms have private bathrooms.

The hotel's central location allows easy access to some of the city's main tourist attractions, including Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, The Scottish Parliament and the Whisky Heritage Centre.

The hotel's current owners, David and Anne Marie Hinnrichs, have operated the business for 19 years and have now decided to retire from the hospitality trade.

Handling the sale is the Edinburgh office of Colliers International. Alistair Letham, a Director with the Hotel Division of Colliers International, said, “Allison House is an already well established guest house business and has the added feature of good private accommodation for owners.”
