Family-run hotel for sale in Kent

A family-run hotel in Kent has been put on the market after its owners decided to exit the industry following 30 years in business.

The three-star Langhorne Garden Hotel near Leas Cliff Hall has been run by the Fell family since 1981, according to reports from the Folkstone Herald. However, the hotel itself was originally built in the 1870s and attracted wealthy Londoners to the area.

Now, the 29-bedroom property attracts a wider variety of guests. The premises includes a 60-cover restaurant, a pool room, beer garden, dance floor and wine bar.

With a turnover of £500,000 a year and a gross profit of 70 per cent, the property will be a healthy investment for somebody looking for a lifestyle business to buy.

Co-proprietors brothers Ian and Mark Fell are hoping to sell the property quietly, as too much publicity could “disrupt trade”. However, the pair have a history of successful business in the hotel sector, with earlier accomplishments including the running of the St Germain Private Hotel in Earl's Avenue, the White House Hotel in Clifton Garden and the Anchor Pub in Stowting.
