Five Wetherspoon pubs for sale

A total of five JD Wetherspoon pubs have been put up for sale as the business seeks to offload some of its assets.

The premises are a mixture of leasehold and freehold properties and are located across England.

The Eastgate pub in Northampton is one of the more expensive properties at £975,000. It has open plan bars spread across two floors. A large single-storey open plan establishment in Portsmouth, the White Swan, is also up for sale, as is the Picturedrome in Liverpool, a former cinema and television centre on the market for a guide price of £495,000.

Meanwhile, the Printworks in London's Farringdon Road and the Lodestar in Neston, Merseyside, are being sold for nil premium on a free-of-tie leasehold basis.

Neil Morgan, director and head of pubs for marketing agency Christie & Co, commented on the sales: "We are delighted to bring these pubs to market on the company's behalf.

"The quality of the bars, together with the prime location they each enjoy, will undoubtedly result in a great deal of interest in a market where demand is more than keeping pace with the rate of pub disposals."
