The Pack Horse Hotel in the heart of Bolton town centre has been put onto the market by receivers Begbies Traynor.
The 68-bedroom hotel in Bolton's Nelson Square has had a troubled past, with severe flooding causing it to close for 18 months. The owner, businessman Dr Subhash Jajoo, also struggled to pay the repair bill following the floods, which exceeded £200,000.
The hotel – which was put into the hands of receivers Begbies Traynor in September 2009 – has now been put onto the market through the Manchester office of Colliers International and interested parties are being invited to submit offers.
The price tag for the hotel for sale, which features an art-deco themed reception area, ballroom, bar-lounge, conference facilities and commercial kitchens, has not yet been disclosed.
Director of Colliers International, Neil Thomson, said, “The hotel was a thriving town centre business, well known in Bolton as the place to be, popular for its high profile parties and weddings, bustling bars and busy restaurants.
“The Pack Horse Hotel offers a tremendous opportunity for a new owner to reinvest in the property and regain the market share that The Pack Horse Hotel previously enjoyed,” he added.
