Ironbridge Brewery put on the market

A popular micro-brewery in Shropshire is being put up for sale, offering potential new owners the chance to buy into a successful business with lucrative prospects for expansion and diversification.

The Shropshire Star has reported that the leasehold of the Ironbridge brewery has been put on the market for £299,995, and with that price is included the Old Fighting Cocks pub in Oakengates. The offering is located within the historic World Heritage Site of Ironbridge near Telford, on the banks of the River Severn.

The brewery has established its name and success in a matter of just a few years, after it was founded in 2008 by former IT consultant, David Goldingay.

The company brews a range of eight speciality beers, and has an established business in delivering casks and kegs to pubs and outlets in the region. It also supplies kegs and beer to private functions and earlier this year launched a retail website, allowing for 20 litre polypins of real ale to be ordered online for delivery throughout the UK.

Also included in the lot is the brewery shop located in the former factory of the famed Merrythought soft toy manufacturer.
