Longmynd Hotel for sale for £1.75 million

The retirement of the long-term owners of the established Shropshire Hills hotel, the Longmynd Hotel, is presenting a lucrative opportunity prospective buyers with experience of running medium- to large-scale hotels.

The family-run hotel - which has been run by the Chapman family since the late 1970s - has been put on the market with a price tag of a cool £1.75 million.

The three-star hotel, which is located not far from the village of Church Stretton, boasts an impressive array of amenities, based around 50 en-suite bedrooms and eight self-catering lodges. The hotel is set in 11 acres of impressive woodland and also provides function and conference rooms, a restaurant and an outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel is being sold by the Birmingham branch of specialist licensed and hotel agents, Christie + Co. Agent, Gavin Wright, said the hotel had the potential to stay independent or become part of a larger chain.

"This well-established hotel has been owned by the Chapman family for over 30 years and they are now selling the business due to their retirement," he said. "The hotel represents an excellent opportunity to either become part of a larger hotel group or remain in private hands with the new owners building on its long-standing reputation."
