Manor Hotel on the market

The Manor Hotel in Mundesley is on the market after the company leasing the property fell into liquidation.

Priced at £845,000, the property is for sale through specialist agents Fleurets and is being sold by its owner Terry Burch who had previously leased the property out.

Mr Burch has been running the hotel himself for some time but he told EDP 24 that he had bough it as an investment rather than a hotel to run himself: "I have done empire building in the past and I don’t want to do it any more. It was bought as an investment, it just went wrong."

He explained that the hotel is currently open for guests and small functions but that he has cancelled the five weddings that were planned to be held at the venue because he believes the hotel's lack of staff would prevent it from giving the couples the day they deserved.

The hotel has been extensively refurbished over the past two years and will continue to be run by its owner until a suitable buyer is found.

Bob Whittel, director of the selling agent, told the news source that the Manor Hotel is a "wonderful opportunity to acquire a traditional East Anglian coastal hotel overlooking one of the best beaches on the Norfolk heritage coast".
