The Llanwenarth Hotel and Riverside Restaurant, which have been listed in the Michelin Guide, have been put on the market for offers around £800,000.
The popular hotel has been a mainstay for tourists in Monmouthshire and the picturesque border-country between England and Wales. Located on the A40 near Abergavenny and lying on the bank of the River Usk, it benefits from year-round trade and an excellent location.
It is being sold by its current owners Richard Wallace and Jon West, who feel they have not been able to dedicate enough time to marketing the hotel.
The hotel features 17 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, conservatory and terrace, as well as self-contained accommodation for the owners. Last year's turnover was £616,756 and the net profit was £142,992.
The hotel and restaurant are being marketed by the Gloucestershire office of Colliers International. A spokesman for the office said the business presented an ideal opportunity for someone looking to take on an already thriving hospitality enterprise.
"Because of their businesses in the area, they feel that they have not been able to devote the time they would like to marketing the hotel fully, and, as a result, have decided to sell to allow new owners to capitalise on this and increase the trade further," the spokesman said.
