Popular family deli and cafe goes on the market

A much-loved delicatessens and cafe in Coventry has been put up for sale.

Family-run Kendall’s of Earlsdon is on the market after its owners decided to retire.

Husband and wife Marcus and Theresa Kendall have been in charge of the award-winning business for eight years, after taking it over from sister Jackie Kendall who founded it in 1999.

Theresa explained: “Both of us will be getting our pension next year and we have decided it’s time for a change.

“It has been a very difficult decision for us. We have always loved running the business and we have never been so busy.”

She added that the ideal outcome would be to sell the business with the barista coffee trained staff staying in their positions.

During their time running the business, the couple have transformed the deli to also encompass a cafe and takeaway service for customers, the Coventry Telegraph reported.

Success can be seen in the many awards and good reviews the family-run Earlsdon Street venue has received, along with ongoing Fair Trade status.

The deli stocks a range of local produce as well as continental specialities.

Theresa concluded: “There has been so much work put into building the reputation of the business and it would be a fantastic investment for someone. It very much runs itself.”
