Popular Northamptonshire pub put back on the market

The managers of a pub in Northamptonshire have renewed their attempts to sell the business.

The leasehold of the Queen Adelaide pub in the village Kingsthorpe has been put back on the market. Meanwhile, Enterprise Inns will retain its stake in the pub in Manor Road as a new management team is sought, the Northampton Chronicle reported.

The property has been listed with Christie + Co for £85,000. The new owners and managers of the pub would inherit a business with a strong reputation for showing sport and serving good food.

The current owner Paul Barton and wife Krystyna made the decision try sell the pub after they felt their growing family was outgrowing the living space on the premises. Landlord Paul Barton explained to the paper: “It’s not because we aren’t doing good business; the opposite in fact.

“The food side of things is going well, but we want somewhere we can expand that side of things. We have three kids now and two bedrooms, so you do the maths on that one.”

The Queen Adelaide boasts a recently refurbished bar, TV sofa area and dining room. Furthermore, the first floor contains a two-bedroom, self-contained apartment with a kitchen-dining room and a lounge.

Paul Reilly, from the agents, added: “The business has been operated by our clients for around 11 years and they have built up a very strong, local following ideal for keen rugby and other sports fans. Great quality pub grub is currently served on a limited basis so new owners would definitely benefit from expanding the food offering.”
