Pub for sale due to career shift

The owners of the Holden Arms pub in Haslingden have put the business on the market as they make plans for a change in career, the Lancashire Telegraph has reported.

John and Karen Shawcross have managed the venue since 2006 but they're now looking for something new and the pub is for sale for around £110,000.

The business is open seven days a week and has a mix of income bases, including food and drink sales.

A spokesman for the agent Preferred Commercial commented: "The business currently offers a wide range of beers, wines and spirits and also boasts a large 56 cover restaurant, serving traditional English pub food.

"The Holden Arms has earned an enviable reputation in the area and boasts a loyal customer base, benefiting from much word of mouth referrals. There is also scope to embark on a modest marketing campaign as there is currently little advertising in place."

He added that the pub is "thriving" and offers "huge potential for future growth", which could make it an ideal acquisition for a small business buyer.

The property is located on a busy main road on a corner trading position and is spread over two storeys.
