Pub price drops further

A local village pub in the Sussex village of Westfield has seen its guide price slashed considerably since it was first launched onto the market in Autumn of 2011.

The Old Courthouse, located in Main Road, was initially given a guide of £325,000 in September. However, this was later dropped to £299,950, and again to £289,000 as the owners struggled to move the business on.

According to reports from the Hastings Observer, the problems with the sale are in spite of the pub's popularity. Nick Earee from Fleurets Southern office, told the paper: “This lovely village pub is an excellent example of a traditional real-ale house, which have become extremely popular in recent times.”

The establishment is set over three storeys and offers a main bar area with tables and chairs, games facilities, and a traditional open fire. There is also a separate lounge bar and a fully-equipped trade kitchen.

Above this, thee are three double bedrooms, a bathroom and an open-plan living room, while a further double bedroom and storage space can be found on the third floor. Meanwhile, there is an enclosed patio with seating outside as well as a gravel garden with picnic tables and a large car park.
