Punch Taverns continues with pub sales

A flurry of pubs for sale has hit the market as Punch Taverns continues its sell-off strategy.

The business has put 65 sites up for sale this month as part of its restructuring process. The sale includes properties that are new to the market and others that have been for sale for sometime but have now been reduced in price.

Neil Morgan, head of pubs and director of the selling agent, commented: “The appetite for pubs amongst private equity investors and experienced pub operators alike is as strong as it has been for some years.

“As such, this package of pubs has already generated considerable interest – from those looking at continued pub use and others exploring options for alternative usage.”

Most of the properties are being sold on a freehold basis, with vacant possession. Furthermore, there is the option to purchase all of the sites individually or in groups if desired.

Punch is one of the largest pub groups in the country but the shift in economic climate has seen a downturn in trade that has forced it to consolidate its assets and take a closer look at its properties to ensure the profitability of its business.
