Tunbridge Wells pub for sale

A pub is up for sale in Tunbridge Wells, with the potential to convert it in to housing or another type of business.

The High Brooms Tavern in High Brooms Road is described as a “substantial three-storey detached brick built property” by the sellers and its construction dates back to 1899.

With mock tudor and exposed brick elevations, along with various extensions, the property is an interesting establishment offering customers a welcoming place to catchup over a drink.

Campaigners from the Real Ale Group are keen to see the business maintained as a pub. They originally called on its owners Greene King to re-think their sale and open up the venue as a community establishment again.

Carole Dalgleish, secretary of West Kent's Campaign for Real Ale Group, told Courier: “It's the last pub in the area and it's a unique pub.

“It seems as though Greene King wants to sell it on, but we want to keep it on and re-invent it as a community pub.”

Locals described the pub as a “thriving local” noting that it played a major role in their fondness for the area.
