Two Scottish tourist hotels put up for sale

Two hotels in Scotland's Glenorchy Lodge Hotels portfolio have been put up for sale, on the instruction of the company's administrators.

The Tyndrum Hotel in Tyndrum and that Taynuilt Hotel in Argyl and Bute are being offered together or as individual lots by agents from Christie + Co. The industry website, Big Hospitality, reported Christie agent, Brian Sheldon, as stating that the two businesses were being traded through the sale process by administrators from RSM Tenon, and were both excellent business targets.

"We anticipate a good level of interest in either, or both, from prospective purchasers," said Sheldon, highlighting that the hotels have undergone major refurbishment during the time they have been under the management of Glenorchy Hotels.

He added, "They have developed much repeat business and attract year-round trade, thanks to their excellent trading positions."

Tyndrum Lodge comprises 22- bedrooms and is located on the major A82 tourist route. Offers for its freehold are being invited in the range of £650,000. Taynuilt Hotel - which has origins as a 16th century coaching house - has 12 en-suite bedrooms and two bars and restaurants, and is located on the A85. Its freehold is being offered for bids in the region of £450,000.
