A pub and hotel used in the famous 1970s horror film The Wicker Man is up for sale.
Located in Creetown, near Newton Stewart, the Ellangowan Hotel is on the market for offers of around £200,000.
It featured as the fictional Green Man pub in the film, in which Britt Ekland starred as a barmaid alongside Christopher Lee.
The property boasts nine bedrooms and potential purchasers may be interested to learn that it is on offer at a reduced price.
Alistair Letham, a director with the selling agents Colliers International, commented on the property: “The Ellangowan attracts a significant number of film fans who visit the area to take in the locations seen in The Wicker Man.
"Sadly, Britt Ekland is no longer working behind the bar, but the visitors to the bar partake in a lot less sacrifice than seen in the film, making it a popular local venue.”
The sale is being conducted on behalf of the trustee in the sequestration of the former owner. It had been operated by the previous owner for almost 25 years as a successful pub and catering business.
