Wyndham Arms on the market

A pub in Kingsbury Episcopi is on the market after the owner decided he wants to look for a new start with his wife.

Rob Rigby married his wife Linda earlier this year and the pair have opted to look for a new venture that they can call their own. This means that Mr Rigby's pub, The Wyndham Arms, which has always been very much his, is up for sale.

Speaking to The Western Gazette, the landlord said: “It's always been 'my' pub so we decided we'd take on something together – perhaps something different. You'll probably find us popping up somewhere else in the south west.

“The pub's doing really well, with turnover more than £300,000 a year in net sales, and it represents a good opportunity for someone with a culinary background, say an owner-chef, to take on.”

Trade at the pub is split 65 per cent wet sales and 35 per cent food sales, but at the moment food is not offered all day long, so there is definitely room for a new owner to alter the trading pattern of he establishment.

Further additions to revenue could be made through the redevelopment of the owner's accommodation, turning the premises into a letting room.
