Pub company Young's has announced that 14 of its pubs are now up for sale, the majority of which are based in the south.
The firm currently has a portfolio of around 90 tenanted pubs and 150 managed establishments. Of those it is selling, 13 are tenanted while there is one managed house on the market in Bristol.
In addition to the Bristol pub, the properties are based around London and the Home Counties. The Plough Inn in Lambeth, Clapham's Prince of Wales, the Mitre in Richmond and the Lord Nelson in Barnet, Hertfordshire, are a handful of the pubs for sale.
David Turner, property and tenancy director of Young & Co's Brewery Plc, commented: “Bringing pubs to the open market is a rare excursion for Young's and, as you would imagine, these 14 freeholds benefit from excellent locations and good trading performance. We are naturally expecting a great deal of interest in this instruction.”
Meanwhile, Andrew Robinson from Christie & Co's corporate pubs team, added that it is rare for Young's to bring pubs to the open market, making this an interesting deal. “These 14 freeholds benefit from excellent locations and good trading performance,” he said.
